modulo di missione MODULO DI MISSIONE FOR THE POTABILIZATION OF BRACKISH AND SEAWATER
As configured for the Italian Armed Forces.
NATO NATO CODE 4610-15-200-1407 - Part Number: OMP ACQUAPOL 001

A fully autonomous, movable that can purify store and distribute drinking water from any brackish and seawater source. Used for immediate and sustained access to fresh drinking water from partly to highly saline water sources such as sea, lakes, lagoons, rivers and canal, broken water pipes, etc... Deployed in camps and in the field by armed forces, civil defence and civil protection agencies, disaster relief organizations, civil engineering and construction companies.

The OMP AQUAPOL 001 is a water purifi cation system that uses the principle of reverse osmosis to produce up to 3,500 litres/hour of fresh water per hour (60m3/day) from brackish and seawater.
Based on UN data this is sufficient to provide up to 1,200 personnel with enough water to drinking, cooking and washing daily. A 3,000 litres water tank is installed in the module on order to provide a reseerve of potable water for use at any time.

The module is housed into a NATO standard ISO 1C container (20 ft. x 8 ft. x 8 ft., coated with nato approved paints in order to ensure camoufl age, protection and long life operation. Easy access for maitenance is granted.

The compact and efficient overall design maximizes functionality while at the same time minimizing space, making it easier to transport and deliver in the field. The module can be plugged into an electric power grid or can be used stand-alone operating its own power generator. Monitoring is possible remotely and the container is equipped with an alarm system, GSM and RFID locators.

A solution that delivers a high value functionality, designed and built around four key principles:
- Rapid deployment.
- Rapid employment.
- High reliability.
- Ease maintenance.

Reverse Osmosis (RO) is very well known mechanism for water purification.Different configurations are available, depending on local requirements and water characteristics. The RO process used in OMP product improves the quality of drinking water by reducing both its total salt content and the total amount of specific contaminants. In case of brackish sources the water is pressurised at 8-15 atmospheres in order to pass it through the osmotic membrane. The membrane eliminates up to 98% of all other substances (i.e. salts, heavy metal ions, organic compounds, pesticides, bacterial colonies, etc).
